New York Fashion Week, Parties and Events in SoHo.
For the last week we have been nusy attending New York Fashion Week, which sadly came to a close on Friday. Celebrities, designers, photographers and more came together at the tents at Bryant Park and made me realize once again why I love this city! It truly is the fashion capitol of the world! Many of the after parties were held right here in SoHo, the neighborhood where nightlife meets fashion. Bloomingdales SoHo was host to the Style 360 party, hosted by Nigel Barker and Elle.com on Monday evening. On Tuesday, September 9th SoHo was filled with celebrities attending various after parties including: Y-3 SoHo store launch party, the Prada party, Vivienne Tam Party at 40 Mercer, and Heidi Klum hosted an event at Bloomingdales SoHo for Jordache. The following day the Subversive Jewelry Spring 2009 Collection was held at Kisan SoHo on Greene Street. Overall, fashion week previewed some excellent designs for Spring 2009 and we are excited that SoHo was host to many of the exclusive parties and events!
Nike Soho
On Wednesday night Nike closed down Mercer Street in SoHo to throw quite a bash for their new store opening! This event was invitation only and featured a stage and special performances. Now we know SoHo is know for fashion, of course, including many high-end show stores selling the ever so dangerous stilettos (those cobblestone SoHo streets are quite a challenge!) However, recently we have seeen a great deal of new sneaker stores opening in the area. This Nike store will offer a new service, Bespoke, which will offer an appointment only service allowing customers to work directly with designers in creating their own customized kicks! The store will officially open on Thursday, at 21 Mercer Street.
